Saige Hopkins grew up in the mountains of Gerton, North Carolina. In 2018, she got her BFA from Cooper Union in New York City. It turns out a mountain creek and a city sidewalk have a lot in common- both are easy to get swept up in. She loves storytelling, comics, printmaking, and picture books.
At Cooper Union, she received the the Pietro & Alfrieda Montana Prize, (for excellence in drawing), Elizabeth Kray Memorial Prize, (in recognition of proven ability in poetry), & the Ox-Bow School of Art Fellowship. She has worked with various groups in her hometown of Asheville, North Carolina: including CoThinkk, Indigo Design, Bagatelle Books, Hornsby Creative, and GreenWorks.
